While MJF remains missing from AEW, a small update in the form of a tweet from Dave Meltzer.
MJF hasn’t been seen on AEW television screens since that infamous promo back in early June after a weekend full of speculation whether or not MJF would attend AEW’s pay-per-view, Double or Nothing, after no-showing a fan Meet & Greet that weekend.
Now, a small update on Twitter from wrestling media originator, Dave Meltzer.
When Meltzer was asked if there had been any kind of update on the MJF situation, Meltzer replied:
“Everything is secretive but everyone in AEW assumes he’s coming back at some point but they don’t know for sure and Khan hasn’t told anyone as far as I know.”
The promo that continues to spark controversy (was it a work or a shoot? a work turned into a shoot?) was not released on any official AEW outlet, MJF has essentially disappeared since.
Not only has he been silent on social media and has not been spotted publicly, he has also been largely erased from AEW.
AEW removed MJF from their website, his merchandise from the official store, unfollowed him on social media and Tony Khan continues to decline to comment on the situation after having been asked at numerous media opportunities.
Time will continue to tell when or if MJF returns to AEW but continue to check out WrestleTalk.com for all your latest wrestling news!
