Will Ospreay has recalled a conversation he had about his injury and future surgery with Adam Copeland, revealing what Copeland told him.

With Ospreay set to compete at Forbidden Door on Sunday (August 24), there’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding his in-ring future.

Ospreay is dealing with a legitimate herniated disc injury which will require him to have surgery following his Forbidden Door appearance.

Speaking with Shakiel Mahjouri for CBS Sports, Ospreay noted that he has had a conversation about his injury with Adam Copeland, who notably retired from wrestling due to a cervical/neck injury in 2011, before returning to the ring in 2020.

Will Ospreay recalled:

“(Copeland) said, ‘The hardest things are not the surgery, it’s the mental stuff that comes afterwards.

Just know that I’ve been here and I’ve done it. So any time that you want to talk and bulls**t, here’s my number.'”

Will Ospreay will compete in a 10-man Lights Out Steel Cage match at Forbidden Door, teaming with Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Darby Allin and Hiroshi Tanahashi against Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Gabe Kidd and the Young Bucks.

Copeland meanwhile is set for an in-ring tag-team reunion with Christian Cage on the show, against Kip Sabian and Killswitch.
