Becky Lynch has issued a response to a section of WWE fans referring to her as “Becky Hogan,” as well as other stars being called “Hogan.”
The term “(Name) Hogan” is used by fans who believe the talent being discussed has essentially refused to lose to someone else for their own gain – referencing Hulk Hogan’s contractual right to do so in WCW, which he did exercise.
In reality, no talent in WWE has that level of power, but some fans still have the perception that when someone like Becky Lynch or Sami Zayn wins a match, it’s because they “politicked” to do so.

Sami Zayn drew “Sami Hogan” claims when he defeated Carmelo Hayes for the United States Championship, ruling Hayes out of WrestleMania
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Lynch responded to those claims, saying:
“I don’t know. I think that when you’re the top of the card, it happens to everybody. Nobody is unscathed. It was Sami Hogan. It might still be Sami Hogan. It’s Cody Hogan, it’s Roman Hogan, Seth Hogan, we’re all Hogan, which say what you will about the man, one of the biggest stars to ever exist.
“So, yeah, I think it becomes this thing. People don’t understand how creative happens and if they see somebody that is in a preferable spot for a long period of time, they go, ‘Okay, that’s because that person is politicking and trying to hold everybody down.’
“So, it’s just people don’t know how it happens, and they don’t know what goes into it, and that’s fine.
“They’re entitled to have their opinions. I want you to have your opinions, go nuts with your opinions. But now I’m just gonna do what I do, and how you feel about me is how you’re gonna feel about me.”
If Anything, Becky Lynch Has The Opposite Problem
Becky Lynch has not been winning too much and doing so at the expense of others on the WWE roster – in fact, the issue is that it’s been the opposite.
Lynch has actually been very giving over these past few years, at no point more so than her recent feud with Maxxine Dupri.
While that series of matches did elevate Dupri to a higher level than she was at, it did bring Lynch down to a level below where she’s been in the past, which isn’t really a positive thing.
She’s also currently at a 0-3 record against AJ Lee heading into their match at WrestleMania.
Hopefully she can get back there with some big performances and wins – and hopefully WWE follows up with Dupri to make sure it was worth it – but if anything, Lynch needs to go on a run of big wins some time soon, so that when she does lose again, it’s a big deal and means more for whoever beats her.
