WWE
WWE is just days away from the WrestleMania 42 two-night premium live event at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
With the lineups for both night one and two, there are a few errors that could be made on the company’s biggest show of the year.
From the wrong result to celebrity usage on the events, the mistakes could stack up throughout this coming Saturday and Sunday.
Here are six potential mistakes WWE could make at WrestleMania 42.
6. Not Adding IYO SKY vs. Asuka To The Card

Heading into WWE WrestleMania 42, IYO SKY and Asuka have seemed to be on a collision course for a singles showdown.
Since returning to WWE in 2025, Asuka has displayed her displeasure and jealousy with the rise of ‘The Genius of the Sky.’
After turning on SKY, Asuka has turned her mental and physical abuse on her other protege Kairi Sane that has brought IYO back into a rivalry with ‘The Express of Tomorrow.’
However, the event is only a few days and there has been no announcement about IYO vs. Asuka being added to the card, so it looks like this match will be left off the lineup in Las Vegas.
5. Sami Zayn Retains The United States Championship Against Trick Williams
Sami Zayn and Trick Williams have been feuding ever since the start of 2026 on Friday Night SmackDown.
Williams getting called up to the WWE main roster has led to a rivalry with Zayn that has spanned months.
On the March 27 edition of SmackDown, Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes to win the United States Championship. Then, it was announced that Sami will defend the title against Trick at WrestleMania 42.
This bout feels like a coronation for Trick to win his first singles title on the WWE main roster, so if Zayn is able to retain, that would be quite a mistake by the company.
4. Too Much Allotted Time For Celebrities On The Show

One of the glaring issues to many fans heading into WrestleMania 42 has been how much focus has been put on celebrities and non-wrestling personalities.
Whether it be Pat McAfee and Jelly Roll or Lil Yachty and iShowSpeed, there have been a multitude of celebrities included in the buildup to Mania.
The actual shows on April 18 and 19 could potentially have too much allotted time for the celebrity acts.
WWE could alienate a section of their fanbase by focusing a little too much on the celebrities in a major way.
3. Having The Usos Interfere In The CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns World Heavyweight Championship Match
On the road to WrestleMania 42, the rivalry between CM Punk and Roman Reigns has gotten extremely personal over the past few weeks.
This led to Punk invoking the name of Roman’s late father in an act of disrespect that not only upset “The OTC,” but also his family as well.
The Usos stepped up to Punk and demanded an apology from “The Best In The World.” Then, Jey Uso even called the shot for Reigns to beat down his Mania opponent in a memorable moment in the weeks leading into “The Show of Shows.”
The Usos interfering in the Punk vs. Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship match would be a mistake due to the story WWE has told about Roman potentially finally doing this bout on his own in Las Vegas.
2. Pat McAfee & Jelly Roll Being Heavily Involved In The Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton Undisputed WWE Championship Match Result

Jelly Roll picked up his first win in WWE on the March 27 episode of SmackDown, defeating Kit Wilson
The road to WrestleMania 42 has also seen Randy Orton turning heel on Cody Rhodes in a brutal and bloody beatdown.
However, the build to this showdown has taken a turn for the worse to many fans due to Orton aligning himself with Pat McAfee.
The involvement of both McAfee and Jelly Roll has overshadowed what both Rhodes and Orton have done to hype up this matchup at Mania.
If McAfee and Jelly are too heavily involved in the actual match on April 18, many fans will be left disappointed by Rhodes vs. Orton on WrestleMania 42 Saturday.
1. Oba Femi Loses To Brock Lesnar
Oba Femi has emerged as one of WWE’s newest top stars after accepting Brock Lesnar’s open challenge for WrestleMania 42.
In what should be the biggest match of his young career, “The Ruler” feels more than ready for this showdown on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”
Many fans have been begging for Femi to pick up this win that would launch him into the stratosphere.
If WWE decides to put over Lesnar instead, Oba would suffer in the eyes of the fans and it would prove to be a massive mistake for the company.
