Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has awarded his latest five-star match rating in this week’s Observer.
The accolade goes to the AAA Tag Team Title match at Heroes Inmortales, which saw the Lucha Brothers retain over El Hijo del Vikingo & Laredo Kid.
Here’s what Dave Meltzer wrote about the match:
This was insane. It was basically a collection of crazy spots that built and built. There are people who wouldn’t like it because it lacked structure and felt like an exhibition. That said, it’s Lucha Libre, the moves were insane, the heat got better and the crowd totally exploded for the finish. It wasn’t perfect, but the positives totally overcame a slip here and there and it’s a ***** match. Tons of near falls that got over and finally Vikingo was pinned by the double team Factor Miedo, a double team piledriver like spot.
The Lucha Brothers will defend the AAA Tag Title on AEW Dynamite tomorrow night against an unknown team, with the storyline being that the team are close friends of Andrade El Idolo.
