Roman Reigns defeated Jacob Fatu to retain the World Heavyweight Championship in a Tribal Combat main event at WWE Clash In Italy.

Roman Reigns began his first reign as World Heavyweight Champion back at WrestleMania 42, when he defeated CM Punk in the main event of WrestleMania Sunday.

On the Raw after WrestleMania, Roman was interrupted by Jacob Fatu, who took aim at Reigns, the World Heavyweight Championship, and the honor of being Tribal Chief.

Roman and Jacob faced off for the first time at WWE Backlash, with Roman retaining the title against Jacob, only for Jacob to leave Roman laying with the Tongan Death Grip after the match.

This led to Jacob taking out Roman again on Raw, challenging him to a Tribal Combat rematch at Clash In Italy.

The Tribal Combat match took place in the main event of the show in front of a hot Turin crowd.

In the end, it was ultimately Roman who picked up the win, retaining the World Heavyweight Championship and his status as Tribal Chief.

With this victory, Jacob must now fall in line with the Bloodline, with Solo Sikoa and the MFTs watching on as the show closed.

Roman Reigns & CM Punk Summer 2026 WWE Schedule Issues

Immediately after winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42, Roman Reigns said he would be around on WWE TV all summer.

Due to some kind of miscommunication within WWE, it seemed like he might have been removed from plans throughout June, but he has since been confirmed for Raw appearances on June 1, 15 and 29.

He is not currently being advertised for the WWE Night of Champions premium live event, which takes place on June 27.

There was also a disconnect with CM Punk’s schedule, as he also said he wasn’t going anywhere after his loss to Reigns at Mania, but plans changed leading to him being taken off TV.

While it isn’t inherently bad that they aren’t around, WWE might want to tighten up on its plans, especially when top babyfaces like Reigns and Punk are publicly making statements that they’re going to be around, just for plans to change.

It makes the talent look bad and, especially when they’re babyfaces, the last thing WWE should want is for them to make promises that end up being broken – it’s no fault of Reigns or Punk, but for the many fans who aren’t tuned in to the online news scene, they’ll be wondering why they aren’t showing up on TV after saying they were going to.
