There has been an update on the WWE contract status of Drew McIntyre as he prepares to participate in Survivor Series WarGames.
McIntyre teams up with Judgment Day at Survivor Series tonight (November 25) in the men’s WarGames match against Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn.
As of today, PWInsider reports that Drew McIntyre and WWE have not had further contract talks at this time with the company believing the two sides still have plenty of time.
Also in the report from PWInsider, a potential explanation should the parties not come to a new deal right away in the Spring.
According to the report, McIntyre may be interested in taking some time off to spend with family, especially after the recent passing of his wife’s sister.
Drew McIntyre lives full time in America but hails from Scotland and may want to spend some time visiting friends and family.
McIntyre’s contract has been reported as expiring in April 2024, after some time added on due to his absence, which is thought to be plenty of time for the two sides to reach a new agreement.
The report also notes that there has been no ill-will between the company and McIntyre.
McIntyre has recently been making an on-screen pivot which some have considered heel turn, most recently aligning with Judgment Day for the upcoming WWE WarGames match at Survivor Series.
