The first match for the upcoming WWE & AAA Worlds Collide event in Los Angeles on June 7 has been confirmed.
As announced as part of WWE’s acquisition of AAA last month, the event will feature talent from the WWE main roster, Mexico’s AAA promotion, and WWE’s NXT brand as well.
During tonight’s May 23 episode of SmackDown, the first match for Worlds Collide was confirmed.
Last week, in an attempt to keep Berto on side, Legado Del Fantasma leader Santos Escobar said he had something big in the pipeline for the trio, which also includes Berto’s cousin Angel.
This week, Escobar, Angel and Berto got together for dinner, where Escobar revealed what his plan was.
He said that he’d organised for the three men to team up at Worlds Collide in a six-man tag match, so they can prove themselves to the world.
It was then confirmed that their opponents would be a trio of stars from AAA – El Hijo De Dr Wagner Jr, Psycho Clown and Pagano.
Worlds Collide will take place on the afternoon of June 7 from LA’s Kia Forum, shortly before Money in the Bank takes place in the same city at the Intuit Dome.
It was also confirmed during SmackDown that the show will stream live on YouTube in both English and Spanish.
