An interesting historical wrestling detail was pictured on this week’s episode of WWE NXT that you may have missed.
The detail was in the backstage segment at Chase University, where Jacy Jayne and Andre Chase received a letter from Tony D’Angelo ahead of their NXT Tag Team Championship rematch on next week’s show.
In the background of the segment was a map of the United States, with various different areas outlined and coloured in.
The map, as confirmed by Reddit user r/shadowrangerfs, is a map showing the professional wrestling territories from the territory era of wrestling in the 60s and 70s.
Chase University has often been shown lecturing the students on the history of wrestling on the show, so the map of the territories being present in the segment makes for a nice touch.
Chase U captured the NXT Tag Team Championship back on night one of NXT Halloween Havoc on October 24.
