Kazuchika Okada will be in action at NJPW Capital Collision, set to team with AEW star Trent Beretta.
NJPW has announced that the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion will partner with Beretta to face off against Jay White & Hikuleo of Bullet Club during the May 14 show.
Okada and Beretta are both part of NJPW’s CHAOS faction, with the Best Friends invited into the stable by Rocky Romero in November 2021. The announced bout is set to be Beretta’s first NJPW match since The New Beginning in USA 2019.
The Rainmaker is slated to defend his IWGP World Heavyweight Title against Jay White at NJPW Dominion on June 12. This all comes after White attacked Okada in the closing moments of Wrestling Dontaku, celebrating in the ring with Bullet Club.
Dominion takes place just two weeks before the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event on June 26. Okada has confirmed that he plans to be in action on the crossover show, naming two top AEW stars he wants to face.
Three matches have been confirmed for Capital Collision, with Will Ospreay proposing a huge IWGP US Championship match that hasn’t yet been officially announced.
Here’s the current line-up for the show:
- Kazuchika Okada & Trent Beretta vs. Jay White & Hikuleo
- Eddie Kingston vs. Tomohiro Ishii
- Minoru Suzuki vs. Brody King
