The current NXT Women’s Champion, Lola Vice has revealed how competing in AAA has led to her having more confidence in WWE.
A product of the WWE Performance Center, Lola Vice signed her first contract back in August 2022, having come from a martial arts background.
Along with holding the NXT Women’s Championship, Vice is the current AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion with Mr. Iguana.
Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Vice revealed how competing in AAA has led to more confidence over in NXT, saying:
“When I got the opportunity to go to AAA, it was before WWE had completely taken over. I was there maybe two or three shows with the little piece of what they had in that ring… Seeing how hard those people worked in the ring.
“It was different. There, I learned to appreciate what I had at the Performance Center in the WWE. Then, every time I’d go there, it wasn’t for shows in front of 500 people, it was 10,000 to 20,000 people.
“I speak Spanish, but when things would go wrong in a match, I had to take control, I had to be the leader, and being in so many situations like that helped me grow as a wrestler.
“Over there, seeing how the crowd received me, I would sit with myself and say ‘Lola, you have potential. People are relating to you when you walk into the ring. You’re grabbing the fans, you need to believe in yourself, because they believe in you.’
“So every time I went out there, I gave it the best I had. I tried to do lucha in their style, and just seeing how AAA grew when WWE took over, and how much they did behind the scenes and the production they put into it, I learned so much about the business outside of the ring, then I just started getting it and clicking (inside the ring).”

Vice seized the NXT Women’s Championship from Lola Vice in a Triple Threat match also featuring Kendal Grey at the April 4 Stand and Deliver event.
Same Company, Different Crowd
Acquired by WWE in April of last year, with the announcement made over WrestleMania 41 week, AAA has gone from strength to strength over the recent months.
Still very much a Mexico-based promotion, AAA has seen an exchange of talent with stars from the main roster and NXT, with the identity being largely unaffected, aside from shows benefiting from the production strengths of the WWE machine.
The relationship with WWE also sees The Undertaker serve as a member of creative and a producer in AAA, previously commenting on his goals under that role.
Pete Dunne, currently Rayo in Los Americanos, was also previously revealed as a producer in AAA, with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Jeremy Borash and NXT head referee Adrian Butler also involved in backstage capacities.
