Matt Riddle Urges UFC Legend To Wrestle In WWE WWE

Fresh from defeating Seth Rollins in the Fight Pit at Extreme Rules on October 8, Matt Riddle has challenged former UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier to enter the squared circle.

Cormier was of course the special guest referee during Riddle’s bout with Rollins.

Speaking on the DC & RC show on ESPN MMA, Riddle was asked for his thoughts on the Fight Pit bout, and he singled Cormier out, saying:

“You know, I think everybody performed well. I personally dig DC (Daniel Cormier) though, I think he did a great job refereeing. But I think he’s bigger and stronger and better than just refereeing, you know. I think DC should lace up some boots and step into the squared circle, that’s just my opinion.”

The UFC Hall of Famer was not a passive observer of Riddle and Rollins’ bout. In a clip shared by WWE, Cormier explained that he had to “put Rollins in his place” after Rollins had grabbed Cormier while the guest referee was checking on Riddle.

Daniel Cormier has long vocalised his interest in pro-wrestling and even called out Brock Lesnar for his WWE title during UFC 226 in 2018 after winning the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Cormier recently addressed his future with WWE following Extreme rules and implied the door was open to more appearances in future. You can read the full story right here.

After a well-received appearance, it seems that Matt Riddle is not the only one hoping to see a Cormier step into a WWE ring.

Riddle’s Extreme Rules opponent Seth Rollins was recently revealed to be the person to first reach out to Cormier about making an appearance.

Matt Riddle ultimately won the main event Fight Pit match via submission at Extreme Rules.

This came after a show-stopping Senton from the platform surrounding the ring. Speaking of his gnarly landing, Riddle said:

“At that moment, I was already feeling my hip bone really hurt already. I already got buckle bombed into the side of the cage, and I already took a pedigree.

“So I was so beat up, and when I was looking down at Seth I was like why, I can’t climb down, that wouldn’t be cool. So I was like ‘hey, why not hit him with a little Broton action,’ jumped about 10 feet. It felt like 30 or 40 feet, and I literally crushed Seth, I had to protect myself.”

Time will tell how the feud between Rollins and Riddle will continue. Rollins won the United States Championship from Bobby Lashley on Raw this past Monday after Lashley was attacked by Brock Lesnar.
