Drew McIntyre’s loss at WWE Clash at the Castle back in September 2022 remains the catalyst for his slow burn ongoing heel turn we are seeing on Raw today.
Ahead of Drew’s big match, a video aired featuring his popular old theme song ‘Broken Dreams’ from his initial run in WWE, a song which everybody seems to want to see return, including the man himself.
Taking to Tik Tok, Drew was asked about the possibility of his Broken Dreams theme song making a return once again.
Drew said that he will push for the song to return, claiming that it ‘will be back at some point’.
He said:
“I see the Broken Dreams comments. I love it myself, I reference it all the time. We had it at Clash at the Castle in the UK, and they seemed to know all the words, so when it comes back at some point in the future everybody better know the words, because I will push for it and it will be there at some point.”
Drew then discussed hearing the song for the first time, and how it is what made him feel like a WWE superstar for the first time.
He added:
“The first time I used it was the first time I heard it. I remember I was given a song previously that I didn’t love, don’t know where I got the balls to say ‘I don’t love this song’, but they changed it, come up with a new one, and I remember standing by Vince [McMahon] during the day as I heard it for the first time and he said ‘congratulations’.
“I got shown the graphics, it was like a horror movie for the intro, and then kicked in and I walk on out. After watching the entrance after the show that night I thought ‘alright this is pretty freaking cool. I’ve finally arrived, I finally feel like a WWE superstar’.
@dmcintyrewwe Replying to @Mr Darrenlinville It’s pretty cool that all these years later #BrokenDreams is still as special to you all as it is to me. Have patience, and in the meantime have this story about when I heard it for the first time… You can all feel free to send me more questions or stories you want to hear, I will do my best to reply as and when I have time in this crazy life! #WWE #WWERaw #WWECrownJewel #DrewMcIntyre #Q#Q
