A new report has revealed TNA Wrestling’s “major goal” for 2024/2025 – however, it could potentially be affected by the presence of WWE.

In what already promised to be an eventful year for the company, TNA Wrestling has seen a great deal of change since 2024 began.

Not only did they ditch the IMPACT Wrestling in order to return to their prior name of TNA and hire a bunch of new talent, but they also removed Scott D’Amore as President of the company.

While this decision reportedly upset many talent in the company, it seems as if the company are pressing on with their lofty ambitions, with perhaps their number one goal now revealed courtesy of Dave Meltzer’s latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Meltzer revealed that TNA’s “major goal” is to move their programming to live TV, rather than pre-taped.

This would be done at a singular location, much like WWE’s NXT which shoots from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

In the Newsletter Meltzer revealed that the company could also be set to move to Orlando in “late 2024 or early 2025”, specifically NXT’s former home of Full Sail University – where NXT was filmed for almost ten years.

There is a major goal of moving the TV to live, where they would shoot every week at the same location.

Ed Nordholm, Scott D’Amore and Lou D’Angeli had made a connection with Full Sail University in Orlando as the location. They had recently toured the camps and after D’Amore was let go and Nordholm was removed from the picture, Leonard Asper and other execs were also interested and were said to have toured Full Sail.

The original plan was for a test weekend of taped shows at the new location, whether Full Sail or somewhere else, in May or June with the idea of starting up going live each week in late 2024 or early 2025.

As well as Full Sail, another venue reportedly considered by TNA’s parent company Anthem was the gym of current TNA name Santino Marella in Mississauga, ONT.

Meltzer continues:

Anthem was also interested in taping from Santino Marella’s Gym in Mississauga, ONT but the look wouldn’t be as good as Full Sail, where WWE taped NXT for years.

Another person said they heard the Marella Gym was less likely and may be crossed off the list because it’s a functioning MMA and wrestling gym and that could impact the gym’s primary business too much having weekly live television.

According to Meltzer, TNA would likely find it difficult if they decided to move their programming to Full Sail due to NXT’s established presence in the area, but there would also be some advantages.

Meltzer explains:

Of course Orlando would be a difficult market to sell tickets.

NXT was able to sell tickets and let students in free at Full Sail but that’s WWE, but TNA wouldn’t be able to sell many tickets there given NXT is free in the area every Tuesday and you don’t know how many students and friends they could get for a TNA product running every single week.

But there are advantages of Full Sail in the sense the look is very TV friendly and they can work the deal where students help out on production. D’Amore’s goal was some live TV shoots this year and every week live in 2025.
