“He’s Killing It” – Former WWE Star Giovanni Vinci Praises Ludwig Kaiser’s Work As El Grande Americano WWE

Former WWE star Giovanni Vinci has commented on his ex-Imperium teammate Ludwig Kaiser’s work as El Grande Americano.

Since June of last year, Kaiser has been the second El Grande Americano, replacing Chad Gable who initially portrayed the character until an injury saw him absent from WWE television.

With Kaiser under the mask, Giovanni Vinci has shared his thoughts on the WWE star and his success during an appearance on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, saying:

“I think he’s killing it at whatever he’s doing. I think he has a good feel for what the people want to see and what people want to get out of it, and the reactions speak for themselves.”

With Chad Gable having returned from injury, both incarnations of El Grande Americano will collide at AAA Noche De Los Grandes on May 30 in a mask vs. mask match.

El Grande Americano Won Over The Fans

From March of last year, which saw the first appearance of El Grande Americano and Chad Gable adamant he wasn’t the star under the mask, the luchador found a place in the hearts of many fans, primarily thanks to the comic antics of the star himself.

The injury that Gable suffered in June would have been the end of the character, but a repackaged Ludwig Kaiser took the concept and ran with it, going so far as to bring the portrayal to audiences in AAA and winning the fans over in Mexico, too.

His commitment to the character, including demonstrating his fluency in Spanish, has to be a huge contributing factor to that, particularly with the respect he shows to the heritage of luchador wrestling.

It could be argued that, with Kaiser, the character has become an even bigger hit, with the additions of Rayo & Bravo to the act, portrayed by Pete Dunne, himself a AAA producer, and Tyler Bate, respectively, adding a further element of humor.

It’s easy to speculate on how all three could be “better used”, but the trio have consistently been featured on screen and demonstrated the enthusiasm that they are putting into their respective roles, which has even seen Bate and Dunne break out lines in Spanish.

A single title held by both incarnations El Grande Americano, in the form of the WWE Speed Championship before it became an NXT exclusive, it could be a missed opportunity, coming out of the upcoming mask vs. mask match, if there wasn’t a decision to put another championship around the waist of the character, particularly with the win (and near unmasking) at this year’s AAA Rey de Reyes.
