WWE Star Addresses Not Competing At PLE In Home Country WWE

Ludwig Kaiser has revealed there were conversations about a match in his home country for WWE Bash in Berlin.

The August 31, 2024, WWE PLE would go ahead without a Ludwig Kaiser match with GUNTHER going on to headline the event, retaining the World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton.

Kaiser did, however, have a match the night before Bash In Berlin on SmackDown against LA Knight.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Kaiser reflected on being absent from the Berlin show match line-up.

He would reveal that conversations did take place, though he understands why he wasn’t on the card, saying:

“I did fight for it. I did. There were conversations about it, and it wasn’t really clear if it would happen or not. But again, it’s tough, man. It’s a PLE. We have so much stuff.

“If you look at the card that night, it is almost impossible to even get on there. So much star power. And again, we have the greatest superstars in the world.

“When I look at that card, I understand why I wasn’t on that card that night, but I damn well know I will be. I will 100% be. Because Germany showed out that night, and it’s a great market for the company, and, yeah it’s my first time there with WWE really.

“There’s a lot of shows to come, and a lot of opportunities, and I can definitely promise you, Ludwig Kaiser is going to use all those.”

In the interview with Chris Van Vliet, Kaiser also touched upon the possibility of teaming with his real-life partner, Tiffany Stratton, on WWE television.

Alongside GUNTHER vs Orton, the show also featured Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Championship, and Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill becoming WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions by defeating The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn).

Outside of the three championship matches, CM Punk beat Drew McIntyre in a strap match and The Terror Twins (Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley) beat The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan) in a mixed tag team match.

Highlights from all those matches can be seen below this news story.
