AEW World Champion MJF Names Hangman Adam Page As The Star Closest To Him On The Mic, Says ‘No’ To WWE’s The Miz

AEW World Champion MJF has named the star he believes is closest to his level on the microphone, also sharing his thoughts on a WWE star.

With MJF dedicated to maintaining and building upon his character, many fans would call him the best promo in AEW.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, MJF was asked who in or outside of AEW he believes has the closest mic skills to him.

When the interviewer suggested The Miz, MJF dismissed this idea, stating:

“No. He’s a great guy though. Miz is a great guy.”

Ultimately naming Hangman Adam Page, he continued:

“In my company, who is close? I think gun to my head, some of the most intense verbal battles I’ve had has been in the ring with ‘Hangman’ Adam Page.”

MJF and Adam Page have had a number of memorable matches over the years.

They most recently faced off at Revolution in March, with MJF retaining his AEW World Championship in a Texas Death Match.

AEW’s MJF and WWE’s The Miz have drawn a lot of comparisons over the years, with CM Punk notably calling MJF a “less famous Miz” on the November 24, 2021 Dynamite episode.

Both stars’ characters are cocky, excellent on the microphone, and often resort to using underhanded tactics to win matches, so comparisons make sense on that aspect, but in reality, the two are very different wrestlers with significantly varying in-ring styles.

With MJF teasing making the jump to WWE in recent years, fans have tossed around the idea of a potential MJF vs Miz match, the type of dream match which would be super entertaining to watch unfold.

After losing the AEW World Title to Darby Allin on the April 15 Dynamite episode, MJF won the gold back at Double or Nothing on May 24.
