Surprising Roman Reigns WWE Plans ‘Under Consideration’ WWE

A surprising plan is reportedly ‘under consideration’ for Roman Reigns as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Having recently celebrated 1,000 days on the June 2 episode of WWE SmackDown, a new championship belt was unveiled and placed around the waist of Roman Reigns.

Footage from the ceremony can be seen below this news story where its worth noting that the old WWE Championship and WWE Universal Championship end up on the shoulders of Paul Heyman.

Sports Illustrated have reported that this choice may have been by design in a recent exploration of the new WWE Championship belts.

According to Justin Barrasso of SI:

“When Reigns was given the new title two weeks ago on SmackDown, Paul Heyman had the WWE and universal belts resting on each of his shoulders.

“It will be interesting if Heyman will continue to carry both belts in addition to Reigns wearing the new title. That is a possibility still under consideration, sources say.”

The sight of Reigns with three separate championship belts in close proximity would likely be a talking point among wrestling fans who rarely get to see the Tribal Chief wrestle.

Reigns wasn’t the only WWE champion to get a shiny new belt with Rhea Ripley becoming the Women’s World Champion as the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship was ‘retired’.

It didn’t stop there, either, with Asuka receiving a new championship belt and being named the WWE Women’s Champion which continues the lineage of her WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

Seth Rollins is the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion and has recently discussed the logic behind the title’s introduction.
