WWE star Carmelo Hayes reacts to new AEW merch using his catchphrase after the item raised eyebrows amongst fans.
While Carmelo Hayes from WWE NXT has been using the catchphrase ‘I am HIM’ for awhile now, it seems that another wrestling star is exploring the proclamation.
With AEW dropping new merch for ‘The Devil’ ahead of the reveal of their identity with a shirt that also says ‘I am him’ and now Hayes has responded.
Writing on Twitter, Carmelo Hayes replied to the AEW post of the new merch saying:
“Lemme get one”
I mean… it is the least the Devil could do, hook Melo up with a shirt if he’s going to cop the same catchphrase!
Carmelo Hayes has several more pressing items to attend to beyond what new AEW merch has dropped as he continues to prepare for tonight’s WWE NXT premium live event, Deadline.
At Deadline, Hayes is set to face off against Lexis King (formerly known as Brian Pillman Jr. in AEW) for the latter’s premium live event in-ring debut.
Elsewhere set for the show, Ilja Dragunov defends the NXT Championship against Baron Corbin, Dirty Dominik Mysterio defends the North American Championship against Dragon Lee and a pair of intriuging matches.
Both the Men’s and Women’s divisions will host an Iron Survivor Challenge Match for the second time after debuting the stipulation at last year’s NXT Deadline.
Of course, WrestleTalk will keep you up to the minute with all of the news coming out of the show throughout the night.
