WWE has filed its latest trademark with the United States Patent & Trademark Office for the ring name ‘Nox Raijin.’

The filing was made on April 28 with the following description, which is typical of ring name trademarks:

Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment

As of this writing, there’s no official confirmation as to who the name Nox Raijin will be used by going forward, but there were a number of debuts on last night’s episode of WWE NXT, the most notable of which was former NJPW star EVIL, who confronted NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo.

It was reported a short while ago when the news emerged that EVIL had signed with WWE that he wasn’t expected to use the name EVIL, and while WWE has made references to it, such as titling the YouTube video of his debut “Tony D’Angelo’s evil new challenger for the NXT Title is revealed,” it does appear it isn’t his official name.

Will Kroos also made his debut in the same segment, landing a moonsault on D’Angelo after EVIL had left, and he’s also likely to be subject to a name change that hasn’t yet been made official, as he wasn’t named and Vic Joseph on commentary even questioned if he was a random fan that had jumped into the ring.
