Daniel Bryan Vs The Miz Plans

Another achievement that’s been almost as long in the making is Daniel Bryan’s near-two year feud with The Miz. The two infamously clashed on SmackDown LIVE’s old post-show Talking Smack in 2016, but because Bryan was retired, the tension never resulted in a match.

With Bryan being medically cleared back in March, though, and both men being drafted to the same brand, their first one-on-one meeting is so close, it actually happened last night.

Despite wrestling Shelton Benjamin on SmackDown’s TV broadcast, Bryan pulled double duty by facing The Miz in the night’s dark match main event for the live Memphis crowd only. Bryan eventually got the win, after the crowd reportedly broke into chants of “punch his face”. Not quite as life-affirming as the ‘Yes!’ chant, but I suppose it’ll do.

And according to Justin LaBar, we might be seeing that feud on TV very soon:

“For what it’s worth it was just advertised locally here in Pittsburgh that Extreme Rules in July would have Miz versus Bryan, Reigns versus Jinder, Ronda Rousey’s WWE debut match in Pitt plus Styles and Nakamura will be featured on the card. #RAW”

Bryan reportedly has yet to sign a new WWE contract with his current deal expiring on September 1st. While he’s largely expected to stay with the company, a new challenge might’ve peaked his interest.

Daniel Bryan Talks UFC Fight

During a live streamed Q+A session on Brie Bella’s Instagram page – which Pro Wrestling Sheet managed to capture – a fan asked how Bryan would fare against the man who beat CM Punk at UFC 225 last Saturday.

Bryan: Did they just ask me if I could beat Mike Jackson in a fight? I can beat him on the ground for sure, I think.

Brie: You could definitely beat him.

Bryan: If WWE would let me fight in UFC, maybe.

Trash talking that Jackson himself quickly replied to on Twitter:

“Hey, @WWEDanielBryan, don’t let your mouth write a check your ass can’t cash. You don’t want to get potatoed like your mans did at #UFC225.”

To which Bryan responded:

“Interesting ?”
