On Tuesday night’s episode of Impact Wrestling, the recently released former NXT star Deonna Purrazzo appeared during a pre-taped vignette. This is not Purrazzo’s first stint with Impact, while the company was referred to as TNA between 2014-17, Purrazzo wrestled five times for the promotion, winning none of her matches.
Many people were surprised that AEW didn’t make a move to bring in Purrazzo, especially considering one of their top stars in Britt Baker is likely to be out of action for quite some time with a nasty knee injury. This is something that Kenny Omega personally responded to on Twitter.
It has since emerged that AEW, or any other promotion for that matter, come make a move to sign Purrazzo as the former WWE star has not signed a contract with Impact Wrestling. Fightful Select is reporting that Purrazzo is currently on a pay-per-appearance agreement with Impact but has not signed an exclusive deal.
There is no word on if Impact is planning to sign Purrazzo to an exclusive deal once the Coronavirus pandemic dies down, but stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on this story.
Purrazzo joins the likes of Jordynne Grace, Taya Valkryie and of course Tessa Blanchard in what is already a pretty exceptional women’s division, we are very excited to see the calibre of matches that she can have on this platform.
