Indie promotion IWA Mid South Wrestling has been criticised after it posted a photo of a recent show with a lack of safety measures in place for fans.
The image, which has now been taken down by the promotion’s Twitter account but has been reposted by others, showed that there was no social distancing or masks, and fans were sat as they usually would be as if there wasn’t a global pandemic going on.
Black Label Pro owner Mikey Blanton tweeted in response to this, and reposted the photo, writing:
They deleted their post. This isn’t smart or safe. If you’re there without a mask, shame on you. I just cannot believe how little thought was put into this.
AEW referee Bryce Remsburg tweeted:
If you truly want indie wrestling to come back safely, this ain’t the way.
If you are going to public meetups, be them wrestling shows or otherwise, please remember to stay safe and make sure you and the organisation follow your local authorities’ rules and advice.
