Another full round of the New Japan Cup has come to an end. The second round has been completed and as such we know what the quarterfinals are.
There are a couple of very exciting matches on the horizon. The first of which is Tomohiro Ishii vs. Hiromu Takahashi. Takahashi has yet to have a great opponent in the tournament and Ishii is a phenomenal wrestler and they should have a phenomenal match.
The other is Kazuchika Okada vs. Taiji Ishimori. It is not super often that junior heavyweights and heavyweights get to clash in singles matches in New Japan. However, because of the current situation, we get matches such as this. This will be the first time the two will have wrestled since Ishimori’s return to the promotion in 2018.
- Tomohiro Ishii vs. Hiromu Takahashi
- Kazuchika Okada vs. Taiji Ishimori
- TAICHI vs. SANADA
- EVIL vs. YOSHI-HASHI
The next New Japan Pro Wrestling show is tomorrow and will feature all of these matches. The winner will then clash in the semi-finals the following night. There is only three more shows in the New Japan Cup so make sure to check back with WrestleTalk for further updates.
