As we prepare for the fallout of NXT Takeover 31, a big first-time-ever match has been announced for tonight’s show. Following his dominant victory over The Velveteen Dream, Kushida will take on Tommaso Ciampa.
Despite having been in NXT for a year and a half, this will be the first time Kushida will face off with the psycho killer. Kushida has been displaying a more aggresive attitude of late, maybe this will help carry him through this match. Here is the official preview from WWE.com:
“International Superstar Kushida has displayed a rougher, more aggressive side recently, but NXT’s resident Time Splitter might meet his match in brutality when he battles former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa.
The match, which is scheduled as the first bout on NXT TV this week, pits two of the black-and-gold brand’s most experienced — and perhaps most ruthless — Superstars in head-to-head action.
Can Kushida capitalize on his defeat of Velveteen Dream at TakeOver 31 with a victory over The Blackheart? Or will Ciampa, who has made a painful example of Jake Atlas recently, stop Kushida just as he appears to be getting on a roll?”
Ciampa did not compete at NXT Takeover 31, but also saw a recent change in attitude. He had turned heel in recent weeks and now will face the very hot Kushida.
