A huge update on the future of the partnership between AEW and IMPACT Wrestling has emerged, ahead of the Bound for Glory pay-per-view.
The highly anticipated IMPACT Bound for Glory 2021 airs tonight (October 23) from Sam’s Town Live in Sunrise Manor, Nevada. As per Ringside News – which has had several backstage reports confirmed by the likes of Fightful and Dave Meltzer in recent times – the AEW & IMPACT deal is ‘ending’ after the pay-per-view.
No specifics were provided on what this would mean for individual performers, but it appears the two companies will stop regularly sharing talent after tonight, unless something changes.
An end to the partnership would affect a number of talents’ futures, including IMPACT’s The Good Brothers, who’ve aligned themselves with Kenny Omega and The Elite in AEW, and AEW’s Christian Cage, who currently holds the IMPACT World Championship.
Cage will defend his gold against Josh Alexander tonight, so it is possible that Cage won’t be champion by the time Bound for Glory goes off the air.
Also at Bound for Glory, The IInspiration (fka WWE’s The IIconics) will challenge for the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo has revealed that both her and AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker had pitched the idea of winning the tag titles together to both AEW and IMPACT officials.
