WWE NXT star Grayson Waller has poked fun at WWE’s constant name changes while throwing shade on the former Jordan Devlin.
On Tuesday’s episode of NXT 2.0, a vignette revealed that former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin will now go by ‘JD McDonagh’.
WWE NXT shared the video package on Twitter, advising fans not to bet against The Ace.
Reacting to the name change, Waller tweeted:
Wait! They made Hornswoggle change his name too? WHEN WILL THE MADNESS END?
Devlin recently lost a Loser Leaves NXT UK bout, unsuccessfully challenging for Ilja Dragunov’s NXT UK Title.
There have been over 20 name changes in WWE this year alone. WWE stars were reportedly informed earlier this year that Vince McMahon didn’t want performers using their real names, or names used prior to signing with WWE.
Some stars that have underwent name changes include Tommaso Ciampa, who now wrestles as just ‘Ciampa’, WALTER, who’s listed on the SmackDown roster as ‘Gunther’ and Fabian Aichner, who has been repackaged on NXT as ‘Giovanni Vinci’.
