An update has emerged on Legado Del Fantasma following hints that Santos Escobar will soon join the WWE main roster.
At NXT Heatwave, Tony D’Angelo defeated Escobar in a match with the stipulation that if Escobar lost, he’d be forced to leave NXT.
Prior to this bout, Escobar had teased his main roster call-up on several occasions.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro have been appearing at house shows alongside Tony D’Angelo, so appear to be staying in NXT.
Meltzer noted:
“Joaquin Wilde and Cruz (Del Toro), it looks like they’re staying in NXT. They’re not coming up if Santos is coming up. Because they did house shows over the weekend as part of Tony D’Angelo’s stable, and it looks like that is how it is gonna go down.”
It makes sense that Wilde and Del Toro are expected to stay in NXT, as there was a stipulation on D’Angelo and Escobars match that if Escobar won, the Legado Del Fantasma teammates would be free to leave D’Angelo’s family but Escobar ultimately lost indicating that the team would remain under D’Angelo’s control.
