A top AEW star has explained what they love about the company.
Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. has become the face of the AEW women’s division as a former AEW Women’s World Champion and a litany of memorable matches.
Whether she holds a championship or not, Baker has remained at the center of the top programs in the division since becoming the first female wrestler to sign with the promotion in 2019.
In a recent interview with WhatCulture Wrestling, Baker explained what she loves about All Elite Wrestling. She said:
“I never really knew what to expect, which is [why] I love it. Because then when you just take it one day at a time, one foot in front of the other, everything is a surprise and a success to you.”
“But I’m at the point now where I know in my soul and in my core, I have what it takes to be the star of the women’s division. But that just makes me so much hungrier to do so much more, so it’s a blessing and a curse.”
In recent months, Baker has become even more of a focal point for the company with her role on the reality series, “AEW: All Access” alongside her real life boyfriend Adam Cole.
Further explaining what it has been like for her in AEW, Britt said:
“It’s definitely been an experience. It’s something that you can’t really prepare for, but I’m really thankful for the opportunity and I think, if anything, it really humanizes us as professional wrestlers.”
Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. last wrestled on the June 9 edition of AEW Rampage where she lost to Skye Blue in a four-way match to determine the #1 contender for the AEW Women’s World Championship that also featured Nyla Rose and Mercedes Martinez.
