2. Chris Jericho had been planned for an upcoming New Japan show (Wrestling Observer Radio)
After the ingeniously-built, critically-acclaimed match with Kenny Omega last month at WrestleKingdom 12, there had been speculation that Chris Jericho’s involvement with New Japan Pro Wrestling would only continue.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio today that Jericho was originally planned for New Japan’s March 25 event in the United States (Long Beach, CA), and would’ve worked with Tetsuya Naito. However, Meltzer believes that they’re going to hold off on the match, due to it not being announced, and the venue having already sold out. Meltzer further speculates that the Jericho/Naito match may be held off until New Japan’s June 9 Dominion show.
