AEW
All Elite Wrestling is preparing for their third major pay-per-view of 2026 with the upcoming Double Or Nothing event from Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York City.
In front of a record crowd, this show will surely feature some top notch action that AEW has become known for, but it could also see some babyfaces embracing the dark side and turning heel.
From legendary names to established talent, these stars may betray their friends or turn their back on the fans in NYC on May 24.
Here are six potential heel turns at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026.
6. Kris Statlander

Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida’s friendship has slowly begun to dissolve over the past few weeks
In recent weeks, Kris Statlander has been extremely quiet and seems to be going through some changes before the fans’ eyes.
After weeks of teaming with each other, Statlander and Hikaru Shida challenged Divine Dominion for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships, but came up short thanks to some noticeable miscommunication issues.
Following this loss, Statlander confronted and physically intimidated Shida, blaming her for costing her the opportunity to become the first ever AEW Triple Crown Women’s Champion.
With this new attitude on display and questions being asked about her whereabouts weeks ago, Statlander could reveal herself to the “Timeless” Toni Storm attacker and turn heel on the big stage that is AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 in New York City.
5. Anna Jay

Anna Jay made her return to in-ring action on the May 2 episode of AEW Collision against Willow Nightingale
On the May 2 edition of AEW Collision, Anna Jay made her in-ring return to the company for the first time in 164 days.
Challenging Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship, Jay came up short in her attempt to become a singles champion for the first time.
After this failure and with her future in AEW in question, it might be the right time for a major change in Anna’s character.
Jay turning heel and going after Willow for another title opportunity would be an interesting direction to go with her future and give AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 a necessary moment that the fans will not forget.
4. Thunder Rosa

Thunder Rosa captured the AEW Women’s Championship in March 2022, before relinquishing the title due to injury
In January, Thunder Rosa made her return to All Elite Wrestling for the first time in six months.
After coming up short against Thekla for the AEW Women’s World Championship, Rosa started to appear in Mexico for CMLL.
The former AEW Women’s World Champion is one of the most popular female stars in the history of the company and recently signed a dual contract to start appearing regularly in CMLL.
Rosa could make her presence felt in All Elite Wrestling again by turning heel and kickstarting a feud potentially with the current TBS Champion Willow Nightingale at Double Or Nothing 2026.
3. Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho lost his AEW return match to Ricochet back at the AEW Dynasty pay-per-view
On the April 1 edition of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho made his return to the company for the first time in a year.
The inaugural AEW World Champion has been regularly featured on the company’s programming ever since then.
At AEW Dynasty 2026, Ricochet defeated Jericho thanks in large part to outside interference from Gates of Agony.
The AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 pay-per-view could see another loss to Ricochet and The Demand for Jericho, which could cause him to snap and turn heel in front of this record crowd in Queens, New York.
2.Brody King

Brody King rekindled his rivalry with Darby Allin over the AEW World Championship on last week’s AEW Dynamite
On the April 29 episode of AEW Dynamite, Darby Allin defeated Brody King to retain the AEW World Championship.
While he failed to capture the top prize in All Elite Wrestling, King has been one of the most popular and fastest rising stars on the AEW roster over the past year.
With this most recent loss, frustrations could arise where it leads to King becoming angry and frustrated to the point that he turns heel.
Brody turning heel and attacking his friend Darby Allin to cost him the AEW World Title would take the feud between these two men to a fever pitch at Double Or Nothing 2026 on May 24.
1. “Hangman” Adam Page

‘Hangman’ Adam Page can no longer challenge for the AEW World Championship following his loss to MJF at Revolution
At AEW Revolution 2026, MJF defeated “Hangman” Adam Page in a Texas Death Match to retain the AEW World Championship.
Thanks to a pre-match agreement, Page has promised to never challenge for the AEW World Title as long as he lives.
Since the loss to MJF, fans have not seen “Hangman” with no signs of a possible return coming.
“Hangman” making a surprise return at AEW Double Or Nothing 2026 could lead to him turning heel and laying his hands on one of the most popular babyfaces on the roster right now to make a statement.
