At last year’s WrestleMania 41, Paul Heyman turned his back on his “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns and best friend CM Punk to align with and help Seth Rollins pick up the win in the main event of Night One.
This year’s WrestleMania 42 could see others follow in the footsteps of Heyman with some betrayals throughout the two-night premium live event.
Whether it be longtime partners or family going their separate ways, Mania could have some unforgettable moments where stars turn their back on one another.
Here are eight potential betrayals at WWE WrestleMania 42.
8. Tama Tonga betrays Solo Sikoa

Tama Tonga was the first man brought into Solo Sikoa’s version of the Bloodline in the fallout of WrestleMania 40
Over the past few months, Tama Tonga has started to stand out on his own as a singles competitor after being aligned with Solo Sikoa since signing with WWE.
In recent weeks, Tama has called out Solo’s obsession with The Wyatt Sicks and their sacred lantern.
This led to Tonga making the decision to give Uncle Howdy back the lantern to the dismay of Sikoa.
While they are currently not scheduled to compete at Mania, WWE might wait to pull the trigger on Tama betraying Solo once and for all to finally stand on his own away from The MFTs.
7. Raquel Rodriguez cost Liv Morgan the WWE Women’s World Championship

Tensions between Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez began forming when Liv eliminated Raquel from the Women’s Royal Rumble match back in January
Since returning to WWE back at Survivor Series 2025, Liv Morgan has been focused on restoring the dominance of The Judgment Day.
This led to Morgan seemingly trying to help Raquel Rodriguez win the WWE Women’s World Championship. However, Liv inadvertently cost her friend the gold against Stephanie Vaquer.
Now at WrestleMania 42, Morgan will challenge Vaquer for the gold in what has turned into a heated rivalry between the two women.
With everything on the line, Rodriguez could choose this time to cost Morgan the WWE Women’s World Championship on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”
6. Alexa Bliss turns heel on Charlotte Flair after losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match

Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair were initially set for a match at WWE SummerSlam 2025 before the pair ended up clicking too well on television
Over the past year, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair have not only formed a tight knit tag team, but also a friendship.
Having each other’s back against all of their enemies, Flair and Bliss were able to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and become one of the strongest duos in the division.
Heading into WrestleMania 42, Charlotte and Alexa will now try to become two-time champions in a four-way match with the champions The Irresistible Forces, The Bellas and Bayley and Lyra Valkyria.
If they are unable to regain the titles, this might be enough to drive Bliss over the edge and cause her to turn on Flair at “The Show of Shows.”
5. Lyra Valkyria snaps on Bayley

Bayley’s split personality character has seemingly been dropped in recent months after she initially began teasing the shift after SummerSlam
Speaking of that WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship four-way, there is another duo that could be on the brink of a split.
Ahead of last year’s WrestleMania 41, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria formed a tandem and became the number one contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
However, an attack by Becky Lynch led to Bayley missing out on the event. One year later, Bayley and Valkyria have reunited and are on the cusp of becoming champions at WrestleMania 42.
A loss in the four way match with The Irresistible Forces, The Bella Twins and Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss could lead to Lyra snapping and turning on Bayley after their up-and-down friendship over the past year.
4. IYO SKY gets tired of playing sidekick to Rhea Ripley

IYO SKY is not set to have a match at WrestleMania 42 after being arguably WWE’s wrestler of the year in 2025
On the road to WrestleMania 42, IYO SKY has helped Rhea Ripley in her rivalry with Jade Cargill.
With the WWE Women’s Champion recruiting Michin and B-Fab to deal with Ripley, it was IYO who came to even the odds just a bit in her friend’s favor.
However, it has also led to SKY being on the receiving end of some losses and a beating at the hands of Cargill.
After months of somewhat playing second fiddle to Rhea and being left off the Mania card, IYO might decide enough is enough and turn her back on Ripley to cost her the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade in Las Vegas.
3. Jelly Roll turns on Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes and Jelly Roll left WWE SmackDown together after being attacked by Pat McAfee and Randy Orton
Jelly Roll attempted to play peacemaker between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes after things reached a boiling point with these former friends.
After trying to step in to stop Orton during his bloody beatdown on Rhodes, the Grammy Award winner tried to talk some sense into “The Viper” to no avail.
This led to Orton delivering a RKO on Jelly on the March 27 episode of Friday Night SmackDown and then attacking his former tag team partner yet again on the April 10 SmackDown.
While he could align with “The American Nightmare” against this new alliance of Orton and McAfee, Jelly may decide “if you can’t beat em, join em” and choose to turn on Cody to cost him the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.
2. Randy Orton shows true colors to Pat McAfee

Randy Orton’s WWE WrestleMania 42 main event against Cody Rhodes will be the third of his career
On the April 3 edition of SmackDown, Pat McAfee was revealed as the mystery caller who has been helping Randy Orton since his heel turn.
In a beatdown on Cody Rhodes, McAfee stated that he was back to help Orton save the business and bring it back to the levels of “The Attitude Era.”
After disparaging the state of WWE and the low ticket sales for WrestleMania 42, it could be revealed that Orton was one step ahead this entire time.
Following McAfee helping him win his 15th world title, Orton could turn on the former NFL punter to show his true colors as the new Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
1. The Usos screw Roman Reigns out of the World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk

The Original Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos & Sami Zayn) last reunited at Survivor Series 2024 for WarGames
Roman Reigns’ feud with CM Punk heading into WrestleMania 42 has gotten extremely personal, especially after “The Best In The World” promised to bury “The OTC” next to his late father Sika Anoa’i.
This led to The Usos inserting themselves into this story, wanting Punk to apologize for his disrespect towards their family.
Then, Jey Uso even called the shot for Reigns to attack Punk and put him through the commentary table with a powerbomb.
With Punk bringing up the past between the family members and the fact that Roman never apologized to his cousins, this could all see The Usos turning their back on Reigns by costing him the World Heavyweight Championship at Mania.
