Lyra Valkyria Opens Up On Getting Redemption For Bayley At WWE WrestleMania 42: ‘I Always Want To See Her Get What She Deserves’ WWE

Lyra Valkyria has opened up on wanting to get ‘redemption’ for Bayley at WWE WrestleMania 42 after she missed last year’s event.

At last year’s WrestleMania 41, Lyra Valkyria and Bayley were slated to face Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.

However, on the night of the show, Bayley was attacked backstage and replaced in the match by Becky Lynch.

This year, Lyra and Bayley are set to finally enter Allegiant Stadium together, challenging for the Women’s Tag Team Championship on the show in a four-way.

Lyra Valkryia Aims For Bayley’s Redemption At WrestleMania 42

Speaking to TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Lyra opened up on the match, and how she is putting her own personal accomplishments aside solely for the sake of getting ‘redemption’ for Bayley for last year’s event.

She said:

“It’s huge for me but it’s also such a big redemption thing for Bayley after what happened last year when she was taken out and didn’t get to be a part of WrestleMania.

“There’s so many factors of this match that are so cool for me. The Bella Twins, I’m wrestling the Bella Twins at WrestleMania, that’s insane. Charlotte, Alexa, so many women I watched growing up, and walking in with Bayley with my partner.

“But all that goes to the side when I think about Bayley, making it right for what happened last year, because she’s such an amazing person, like genuinely to me and everyone in the locker room.

“I always want to see her get what she deserves because she’s such a hard worker, she’s fantastic at everything. She asks nobody for anything so I think everyone should give her everything. I just want to see her make up for last year, it’s all about redemption.”

Potential Changes To Women’s Tag Team Championship Match At WrestleMania 42?

With just days to go until WrestleMania 42, there are some potential changes that we could see made to the match due to an injury to Nikki Bella.

Nikki’s injury is reportedly ‘too close to call’ for WrestleMania, with speculation that another team could be added to the match, namely Asuka and Kairi Sane of the Kabuki Warriors.

If not the Kabuki Warriors, as Asuka should be facing off with IYO SKY on the show, then there are other potential teams that could be added if the match has to include four teams.

Women’s United States Champion Giulia is also without a match on the show, with her and Kiana James recently also being part of the Tag Team Division, as well as Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez of the Judgment Day, who are currently not scheduled to compete.
