Seth Rollins Doesn’t Expect The Vision To Interfere In WWE WrestleMania 42 Match, ‘I Feel Like I’ve Got A Straight Path To GUNTHER’ WWE

Seth Rollins says he doesn’t expect The Vision to interfere in his match with GUNTHER at WWE WrestleMania 42.

The former leader of The Vision will compete in his first match since suffering a torn rotator cuff in October at WrestleMania 42 Night One, taking on “The Ring General” GUNTHER.

Rollins and GUNTHER haven’t faced off one-on-one in a televised match since November 2019, and while the booking of the bout came out of left field in the last remaining weeks of build to WrestleMania 42, fans are excited to see two of WWE’s top in-ring stars compete against each other in Las Vegas.

Appearing on ESPN’s Get Up, Rollins discussed his match with GUNTHER, saying it’s all about proving to himself that he can still “do the thing” after his injury layoff:

“It’s about proving to myself that I can still do the thing. I’ve been out for six months with a torn shoulder, (I had) surgery on that. This is my first match since that injury so I gotta put it all on the table, I got to see what I can do.

“It’s WrestleMania, it’s not some random Monday night or Saturday night, this is WrestleMania, this is the biggest show of the year.

“Two nights this weekend and I’m in there with one of the best wrestlers on the planet, “The Ring General” GUNTHER.

“He’s going to bring the best out of me, I expect I will lay it on it all on the line. We are going to have a tremendous fight. But yeah it is about proving something, it’s about proving that I still got the thing. I can still do it to the best of my ability.”

Rollins was then asked about GUNTHER stating that Seth can’t lace his boots, something that “The Visionary” laughed off, but he did recognise the Austrian’s greatness between the ropes:

“GUNTHER likes to get under people’s skin. I know a thing or two about that, so I respect the trash talk. But he knows, deep in his heart of hearts that I can in fact lace his boots. I can do a hell of a lot more than lace his boots as a matter of fact.

“This is two titans of the last 20 years. Two of the greatest in-ring performers of the last 20 years going toe-to-toe on the grandest stage. I have no doubt he’s going to bring his a-game.

“(He’s a) Guy who’s recently retired AJ Styles, recently retired John Cena. I’m sure he’s going to be looking for another feather in his cap. But this is a big one for me, I’m really excited to be back and I’m going to give it everything I got.”

While fans will be expecting a stellar in-ring contest between Rollins and GUNTHER, there remains a strong possibility that we could see some outside interference from The Vision, given Seth’s recent issues with Paul Heyman and company.

Despite potentially having a target on his back, Rollins said he doesn’t expect The Vision to get involved in his match at WrestleMania 42:

“Paul Heyman’s not going to get anywhere near me personally. I know that and you know him as well as I do he is as yellow as they come.

“On the other side of that, The Vision they’re wrapped up in a bit of an issue with LA Knight and The Usos so they will be in action earlier in the evening, I believe live on ESPN 2 as a matter of fact, they will be opening the show Night One of WrestleMania. So I feel like the Samoans and LA Knight are going to take care of them.

“And the other Vision guys, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, well, injuries have taken care of them so I feel like I’ve got a straight path to GUNTHER. I don’t expect The Vision to get involved in any way, but you can bet I’ll be prepared.”
