On the April 1 edition of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho made his return to All Elite Wrestling for the first time in nearly a year.

Since then, it has seemed like Jericho is gearing up for what should be the final run of his long and storied pro wrestling career.

The first ever AEW World Champion is someone who has history with many top stars in the promotion and could be the biggest win of someone’s career, so it will be interesting who could potentially become his final opponent in the company.

Here are eight potential Chris Jericho final AEW matches.

8. Tommaso Ciampa

On the May 27 episode of AEW Dynamite and Collision, Chris Jericho defeated Ricochet to finally put their rivalry to bed.

Post match, Tommaso Ciampa appeared to attack Jericho from behind and laid him out in the process.

Over the past couple of weeks, Ciampa has been taunting Jericho about this attack, making a variety of references to past promos, catchphrases and gimmicks of his new rival.

Ciampa eventually being Jericho’s final AEW opponent would make for a compelling battle as “The Psycho Killer” tries to retire the legend once and for all.

7. Jon Moxley

Upon signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2019, Jon Moxley immediately made an impact by laying out Chris Jericho at the first AEW Double Or Nothing event.

Mox then went on to defeat Jericho to win the AEW World Championship for the first time at Revolution 2020.

The Death Riders leader has proven himself time and time again to have Jericho’s number in singles competition.

If Jericho is having his final AEW match, there might not be a better opponent for him to do battle with than his longtime rival in Moxley.

6. Kevin Knight

Kevin Knight is one of the fastest rising stars in All Elite Wrestling today and the current TNT Champion.

At 29 years old, “The Jet” has emerged as one of the building blocks of the future of AEW moving forward.

With Chris Jericho being a founding father of the company, it would make sense if he faced one of the current breakout stars in the promotion.

Knight getting the honor of being Jericho’s final AEW opponent would be fitting and lead to a battle of generations between these two men.

5. Kyle Fletcher

Another future top star for All Elite Wrestling who has been gaining momentum is Kyle Fletcher.

The former two-time TNT Champion has made a name for himself through spectacular matches and a litany of standout performances.

Considered to be the cornerstone of the Don Callis Family, “The Protostar” feels like someone who would be an ideal rival with Jericho if this is in fact the tailend of his run with AEW.

Jericho facing Fletcher would be a crucial test in the development of “The Protostar” and lead to a highly anticipated battle between the two in what could be his final AEW match.

4. “Hangman” Adam Page

Someone who Chris Jericho has plenty of history with throughout his time in All Elite Wrestling is “Hangman” Adam Page.

Back in 2019, Jericho battled Page to determine the first ever AEW World Champion with “Le Champion” being crowned the inaugural titleholder.

“Hangman” finds himself at a crossroads in his career, no longer having the ability to challenge for the AEW World Title after his loss to MJF at Revolution 2026.

After their meeting all the way back at AEW All Out 2019, it would be fitting to see “Hangman” avenge his loss that night by being the final opponent to beat Jericho in an All Elite Wrestling ring.

3. Swerve Strickland

In a variety of interviews throughout the years, Swerve Strickland has mentioned Chris Jericho as one of his mentors in wrestling.

Learning so much from his career and the advice he has given him, Strickland has become one of the biggest stars in All Elite Wrestling today.

“The Most Dangerous Man in AEW” feels like a logical final opponent for Jericho in his final match in the company.

Wanting to put an end to Jericho’s career, Swerve could add his name to the litany of vanquished opponents he has had throughout his time in AEW.

2. MJF

Another longtime rival and even tag team partner of Chris Jericho during his time in AEW is MJF.

With their last matchup against one another happening all the way back at AEW All Out 2021, fans could see Maxwell Jacob Friedman step up to face Jericho one more time.

Considering his ego, MJF would want to be the man responsible for ridding AEW of Jericho once and for all.

MJF stepping up to be the man to retire Jericho would fit his personality extremely well and lead to an emotional battle in the legend’s final AEW match.

1. Kenny Omega

When AEW was first created in 2019, the main event on the very first show at Double Or Nothing was Chris Jericho vs. Kenny Omega.

The two Winnipeg natives are no strangers to one another with Jericho and Omega having battled at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12 in 2018.

Omega and Jericho have been opponents, rivals and tag team partners during their time in NJPW and AEW over the past decade.

It would feel like the perfect full circle moment if Jericho’s final AEW opponent was also his first and see him end off his run in the promotion against Omega one more time.
