Predicting The Next Winner Of Every WWE Championship

With WWE SummerSlam 2026 on the horizon, there could be a number of titles about to change hands across the two-night premium live event in Minneapolis and beyond.

Several different champions have encountered some different challenges and may see their time to be dethroned coming sooner rather than later.

Whether it be at WWE SummerSlam 2026 or in the coming months, the next winner of every championship should be interesting to see who will step up to win gold.

Here are our predictions for the next potential winner of every WWE championship.

Undisputed WWE Championship – Cody Rhodes

At WWE Night of Champions 2026, Cody Rhodes lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn in a triple threat with GUNTHER.

Just when he was set to get his rematch, Rhodes was attacked by GUNTHER and taken out of his scheduled title bout.

In his place, CM Punk returned to defeat Zayn and win the Undisputed WWE Championship in his hometown of Chicago on the July 6 Monday Night Raw.

Considering they will clash for the gold at WWE SummerSlam 2026 and the recent trend of his title reigns, it would not be entirely surprising to see Rhodes be the one to dethrone Punk whenever his time as champion ends.

WWE Women’s Championship – Jade Cargill

Another former champion who could be on the road back to their title is Jade Cargill.

After losing the WWE Women’s Championship to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42, Cargill has kept her focus on reclaiming the title.

Following their rematch at WWE Clash In Italy 2026, it was revealed that Ripley had suffered a knee injury, with WWE eventually announcing that a new interim WWE Women’s Champion was to be crowned at SummerSlam 2026.

With this five-way ladder match set for WWE SummerSlam, Cargill feels like the odds-on favorite to win after qualifying for the bout.

WWE Women’s United States Championship – Blake Monroe

Following weeks of vignettes, Blake Monroe has arrived on Friday Night SmackDown and is looking to establish herself as a premier star on the brand.

The former AEW star has come with a ton of potential and could become a contender for championship gold before long.

Over the past few weeks, Monroe has been sending messages with random backstage attacks on the likes of Candice LeRae, Kiana James, Chelsea Green and Giulia as of late.

Monroe beating Tiffany Stratton to win the WWE Women’s United States Championship could mark just the start of what will be a successful run for the former Mariah May in the company.

WWE United States Championship – Baron Corbin

There is no denying Trick Williams has become one of the most popular stars in WWE today thanks to his charisma and confidence.

Trick’s confidence had to be shaken after the recent attack from the returning Baron Corbin on the July 10 episode of SmackDown.

Corbin is looking to reestablish himself as a prominent name on the WWE roster and can do just that by capturing gold.

Despite Trick’s run as WWE United States Champion just getting started, Corbin may need this win a little more than Williams and could pull it out thanks to his experience advantage.

WWE Intercontinental Championship – Chad Gable

Ever since being unmasked as The Original El Grande Americano at AAA Noche del Los Grandes 2026, Chad Gable has started his road to redemption.

Making amends with the luchadors for disrespecting their culture, Gable showed remorse and clearly saw the error of his ways towards the art of lucha libre.

This led to Gable winning the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender’s Gauntlet Match to earn a shot at Penta for the SummerSlam 2026 premium live event.

With their title bout scheduled for “The Biggest Party of the Summer,” Gable is now one win away from finally winning the elusive IC Title from Penta in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship – Lyra Valkyria

After months of losses, Lyra Valkyria finally snapped and turned on Bayley in a vicious assault. This led to a grudge match where Valkyria defeated Bayley at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Following the win, Valkyria was not satisfied with the win and initiated yet another assault on Bayley, ending with the Night Wing on top of the steel steps.

Valkyria has now stated that her focus is on the title that she helped make in the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Using her new crazed persona, Lyra may be too much for even Sol Ruca to handle and could lead to a second reign with the gold.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships – The Bella Twins (Nikki & Brie Bella)

At the July 18 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Fatal Influence defeated Paige and Brie Bella to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid have now won their first titles on the WWE main roster since getting called up following WrestleMania 42.

Back at Mania, Nikki Bella was scheduled for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship four-way match until an ankle injury sidelined her and pulled her from the event to be replaced by the returning Paige.

Well on the road to recovery and expected to be back soon, Nikki Bella could be ready to reunite with her sister Brie and go after the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships themselves against Fatal Influence.

WWE Tag Team Championships – Tama & Talla Tonga

The MFTs were no strangers to Damian Priest and R-Truth, having feuded with them for months on Friday Night SmackDown.

However, The MFTs are no more after Tama and Talla Tonga made the decision to abandon Solo Sikoa after his recent issues with The Bloodline.

The Tongans now stand on their own in WWE for the first time since signing with the promotion.

Looking to regain their momentum, Tama and Talla need to bring gold back to the family and must dethrone Priest and Truth to do so.

WWE World Tag Team Championships – Alpha Academy (Otis & Akira Tozawa)

On the July 6 episode of Monday Night Raw, Maxxine Dupri helped The Vision to defeat Street Profits to win the WWE World Tag Team Championships.

Becoming ‘The Vision Queen,’ Dupri was confronted by her former friends and stablemates Alpha Academy, who questioned her decision to side with her new boyfriend Austin Theory and his group.

This led to The Vision beating down Otis and Akira Tozawa back-to-back weeks thanks in large part to Maxxine distracting her former stablemates.

With a non-title match set for the July 27 WWE Raw, Alpha Academy could get the win and set the stage for another, more important victory over The Vision to finally win the WWE World Tag Team Titles.

WWE Women’s World Championship – IYO SKY

At WWE Night of Champions 2026, IYO SKY defeated Liv Morgan to win the King of the Ring Finals.

Thanks to this victory, SKY had the opportunity to choose any champion to face for the gold at WWE SummerSlam 2026 and of course choose Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship.

After proving she could beat her in Saudi Arabia, “The Genius of the Sky” has everything it takes to get the job done again on August 1 or 2.

IYO dethroning Liv Morgan just makes sense and could open the door for some new, interesting directions for The Judgment Day to go after losing the gold at WWE SummerSlam 2026.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Oba Femi

Oba Femi is among the hottest stars on the WWE roster right now, especially coming off the heels of his victory over Jey Uso to win the King of the Ring Finals at Night of Champions 2026.

“The Ruler” was scheduled to challenge for the world title of his choosing thanks to his win, but he chose to instead face Brock Lesnar inside Hell In A Cell at SummerSlam 2026.

If he is able to get a win over Lesnar, there should be absolutely nothing stopping Femi from challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Setting the stage for a high profile dream match, Oba could be the one who can finally knock Reigns off his perch for good.
