The Undertaker New Signings For WWE AAA

The Undertaker recently confirmed his role as the head of creative of Lucha Libre AAA, having worked behind the scenes in the promotion since WWE acquired it last year.

Since taking the position, Taker has added some key acquisitions to AAA from either WWE or free agency.

Whether it be La Catalina or El Grande Americano, these names have added a ton of star power and name recognition to the AAA roster in a significant way.

Here are six The Undertaker new potential signings for WWE AAA.

6. Drake Morreaux

On WWE LFG, fans were introduced to Drake Morreaux, standing at six foot six and weighing nearly 300 pounds.

The young upstart impressed the coaches and gained admiration of Bubba Ray Dudley who chose him for season one of the show.

On season three, Morreaux was sent to Mexico for the Lucha Libre AAA promotion where he would work with The Undertaker again after being on his team on WWE LFG season two.

It remains to be seen how Morreaux will be introduced and used with his unique size, look and skills that is much different from the rest of the WWE AAA roster.

5. Matt Cardona

Looking at the WWE main roster, there are several stars on Raw and SmackDown that could get featured more on Lucha Libre AAA.

Matt Cardona re-signed with WWE at the start of 2026 and looked to eclipse his previous run in the company as Zack Ryder.

However, Cardona has now found himself not consistently appearing on WWE television over the past few months.

Bringing his veteran experience and name recognition, Cardona can offer a lot as a major star who has been featured in the company for years and would be considered a main event level name in AAA.

4. Xena

Over the past decade plus, WWE has looked to World Wonder Ring STARDOM in Japan for key free agent signings.

From IYO SKY to Giulia, these Joshi talents or those who gained experience in Japan have been useful to the depth of their women’s division.

Looking at the current STARDOM roster, Xena is someone who has been rumored as potentially signing with a major promotion in the near future.

With her look, in-ring ability and connection with the audience, Xena can be an essential pickup for WWE AAA right now as the promotion looks to bolster the ranks of their women’s scene in a significant way.

3. Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae

There might not be a more underutilized pairing of talent in WWE right now than Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae.

The married couple have created impressive individual careers as singles and tag team competitors, but over the last few months, things have not been as active for Gargano and LeRae.

Since the departure of Tommaso Ciampa from WWE, the company has been using Gargano and LeRae in mostly backstage segments with the former ‘Johnny Wrestling’ not stepping in the ring and instead laying face-down in a depressed state.

Knowing the in-ring ability of both stars, the company would be wise to use Gargano and LeRae over in WWE AAA where they can be a pivotal acquisition that help both the men’s and women’s divisions.

2. Ilja Dragunov

In October 2025, Ilja Dragunov made his return from injury and captured the WWE United States Championship. Adopting the US Open Challenge, Dragunov delivered week after week, proving himself to still be one of the best in-ring competitors in the company.

Less than a year later, Dragunov has not been featured on WWE TV since April 2026 with no signs of a return as of right now.

‘The Mad Dragon’ can offer so much as an in-ring worker and character to any brand in the company and should be featured more often.

Looking to highlight him against an all-new roster, Dragunov would be a wonderful addition to WWE AAA where he can have some tantalizing dream matches against the likes of El Hijo del Vikingo, Laredo Kid and El Grande Americano.

1. Persephone

At 24 years old, the sky is the limit for the current CMLL Women’s World Champion Persephone.

Starting her career under a mask as a luchadore, Persephone has always shown the potential to be a breakout star, but 2026 has proven to be a breakout year for the CMLL star.

Signing a dual contract with All Elite Wrestling, Persephone has been someone that has caught the attention of the entire wrestling world, including some interest from WWE.

Seeing her as the acquisition that would take their women’s division in Mexico over the top, WWE AAA would be smart to pursue Persephone when her AEW and CMLL contract expires later this year.
