Interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green has commented on her plans for masks and eyewear as she prepares to return to the ring following her orbital bone injury.

Chelsea Green suffered a broken orbital bone on the August 7 SmackDown episode, less than a week after winning the interim WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.

With Nick Aldis telling Green on the August 14 SmackDown episode that she had 30 days to get cleared and defend her title, the interim champion appeared on the August 21 show in Toronto, fending off Lash Legend and Nia Jax following their post-match beatdown of Tiffany Stratton.

While Green didn’t sport any facial wear during this segment, the champion noted in an interview ahead of the show that she already has face and eye masks prepared for future appearances.

Speaking with Etalk ahead of Friday’s show, Chelsea Green said:

“I don’t know what’s going to happen tonight, but that’s the beauty of it. Anything can happen. I have my face mask ready to go to protect my orbital bone, so if someone comes at me for this title, know that I am prepared.”

When she was asked whether the mask is bedazzled, Green responded:

“Of course it is, would you expect any less from me? I bedazzled the entire thing. I’ve got eyepatches ready to go which match my outfits depending on what I wear.”

Green is likely saving her mask for her in-ring return and first championship defense, which will have to happen within the next 21 days unless she is stripped of the title.

With Green’s segment on SmackDown seeing her run from the back into the ring and fight Legend and Jax with a kendo stick, it makes sense why she didn’t wear an eyepatch, in a physical segment where hand-eye coordination was kind of important.

AJ Styles recently noted that he expected Green to return to the ring in a face mask, having recently had a conversation with the injured star at the WWE Performance Center.
