A new John Cena Hollywood collaboration has been unveiled, with the WWE star’s next movie project revealed.
With John Cena to retire from wrestling in December, the 17-time WWE Champion is preparing to go all-in with his Hollywood career.
John Cena’s next project has been announced, with Cena and Kevin Hart both set to produce and star in “The Leading Man”, per Deadline.
This movie will be an action-comedy released through Netflix, with Jon and Erich Hoeber named as writers.
Deadline shared the following logline/synopsis for the movie, which is in early development:
“When a self-absorbed movie star (Cena) discovers that his co-star/man in the chair (Hart) is an actual agent, he’s forced to swallow his pride and accept that action stars aren’t really action heroes…while trying to save the world.”
Kevin Hart will produce alongside Kelly-Clyne and Bryan Smiley for his production company Hartbeat, which has a multi-film deal with Netflix.
Other producers include Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum for RK Films, Eric Gitter and Peter Schwerin for Ignition Productions, Cena, and Dan Baime.
John Cena is no longer the WWE Champion, losing the gold back to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam.
He will be in action at Clash In Paris, against Logan Paul.
