New Matches Taped For ‘WWE Speed’

New Matches Taped For ‘WWE Speed’ WWE

At tonight’s WWE SmackDown taping, there were a pair of matches filmed for the newly announced show WWE Speed.

Previously confirmed as a series featuring short matches that will specifically air on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), filming for WWE Speed has continued.

Ahead of tonight’s SmackDown, WWE Speed matches were held with the first being Cedric Alexander taking on Dragon Lee.

In the second WWE Speed branded match filmed, it was Cameron Grimes taking on Odyssey Jones.

Those were both taped before tonight’s February 16 SmackDown, but it’s unknown whether or when they’ll actually air as a start date for Speed has yet to be confirmed other than some time in the spring.

There had been WWE Speed matches taped multiple weeks ago, but again, it’s unclear if they will actually air on the show or if they were just testing the concept at that point.

Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE SmackDown, it was a big night for recently graduated NXT stars on the blue brand.

Tiffany Stratton won her Elimination Chamber qualifying match against Zelina Vega (with a little help from ringside shenanigans between LWO and Legado del Fantasma).

NXT Tag Team Champion Bron Breakker also appeared as he and Jade Cargill continue to seemingly negotiate with both SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis and Raw GM Adam Pearce.

Also, a recently reunited NXT UK team now on SmackDown together has revealed a brand new team name.
