‘I Don’t Care What Anybody Says’ – Seth Rollins Addresses Night One Vs. Night Two Main Event Debate Ahead Of WWE SummerSlam

Seth Rollins has addressed the argument regarding the true main event of two night WWE premium live events ahead of this weekend’s SummerSlam 2026.

For the second year in a row, SummerSlam will be a two night extravaganza for WWE and its host city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, with the company set to take over the U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2.

As confirmed earlier today with the reveal of the official match cards for SummerSlam Saturday and Sunday, Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins appears set to headline night two of SummerSlam, with CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes seemingly closing out night one.

Speaking with Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray on Busted Open, Rollins was asked by the latter whether he prefers to appear on the first or second night of WWE’s biggest PLEs.

Pointing out his inexperience of competing in night two of SummerSlam and WrestleMania, Rollins said:

“Gosh, I don’t know if I’ve had (laughs) much experience with night two to be honest with you.

“I think about my Mania history, we did SummerSlam obviously last year was a two-nighter but I didn’t wrestle on it, I just cashed-in the Money in the Bank contract at the end of night one.

“Most of my WrestleManias have been night one, as far as matches are concerned. So yeah, I guess I’ll let you know after Sunday night.”

Rollins was then asked whether he prefers competing early on a PLE card or in the main event, which led to ‘The Visionary’ weighing in on the debate regarding the importance of headlining night two over night one of WWE PLEs.

“No, I prefer the pressure of the main event. I like the pressure, I want it all. That’s why you get into the business is to main event the big shows. No offense but if you’re getting in and you’re like ‘You know what, I’d like to be the second match on the card, then you’re in the wrong business. I think all of us want to be at the top and the top is the match that goes on last.

“I don’t care what anybody says, I know there’s a lot of conversation around the WrestleMania main events now that there’s two nights, but I’m of the feeling that night two, the last match that goes on is the money drawer. That’s the big match, that’s the marquee match and so, that’s the business I got into so I’m always wanting to close the show.”

Seth Rollins has two WrestleMania night one main events to his name, both of which also featured Roman Reigns. Rollins teamed with Cody Rhodes to take on Reigns and The Rock at WrestleMania 40, and then one year later he faced off with Reigns and CM Punk in a three-way to close WrestleMania 41 Saturday.
