WWE Star ‘Felt Like Career Was Taken’ From Them After Injury WWE

A top WWE star has recalled her reaction after suffering a shoulder injury during a match on WWE Raw in June 2025.

Following her first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble win on January 31, Liv Morgan will take on the champion of her choosing in just over two months time at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.

While her career has already reached new heights in 2026, 2025 was a challenging one for the former Women’s World Champion.

After a strong first half of the year, Morgan suffered a separated shoulder during a match with Kairi Sane on the June 16 episode of Raw – an injury that would force her onto the sidelines until WWE Survivor Series on November 29, 2025.

Speaking to Rick Ucchino of The Takedown on SI, Morgan recalled being “angry the entire time” she was on the shelf:

“Yeah I was pissed, I was mad. I was mad my whole injury. I was mad the whole entire time.

“I feel like I got injured in a moment where I had multiple things going on for me. I was really enjoying and loving what I was doing, so to have that taken away from me for an extended period of time, I was angry. I was quite literally angry the whole entire time I was recovering.

“So, I feel like I came back with a little bit of a chip on my shoulder, just because I felt like my career was taken from me and I did not appreciate that.”

Morgan was then asked whether she feels her shoulder injury paved the way for her eventual Royal Rumble win on January 31, to which she said:

“I have to settle on believing that it happened for a reason. So yes, I have to believe that this happened for my greater good at the end of the day, even though I didn’t believe that the whole entire time I was injured.

“I will settle on this injury happened so that I could come back, finally win the Royal Rumble, finally headline WrestleMania and walk out champion.

“Which one? I don’t know, but walk out of champion nonetheless.”

As Morgan mentioned, she has yet to decide which champion will choose to face at WrestleMania 42, unlike Men’s Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns, who confirmed he will challenge World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk at the “Grandest Stage of Them All.”
