On social media tonight (December 29), Triple H has directly responded to ‘rumors’ about the return of a champion to WWE Raw Day 1.
After reports of a potential returning WWE Champion set to appear at Day 1 which then morphed into reports that Mercedes Mone was ‘no longer’ in talks with WWE and expected to debut elsewhere ‘imminently’, Triple H responds.
Well, sort of.
Taking to Twitter, Triple H wrote:
“Not going to confirm or deny the rumors of a former @WWE Champion appearing at #WWERaw Day One… but I will say to stay tuned.
“New Year’s Day, 8pm ET on @USANetwork”
Intriguing indeed!
In addition to the previously reported Nia Jax versus Becky Lynch for the first time ever match, WWE World Heavyweight Championship bout between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre as more action from the WWE Women’s division.
Recent main roster addition Ivy Nile will challenge Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s World Championship.
Finally, after Kayden Carter and Katana Chance were able to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, Day 1 is set to feature a rivalry to set up their potential next opponents.
Natalya and Tegan Nox will take on Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark and teams begin jockeying for position in the Women’s tag division.
