WWE Name Expected To Join AEW Because Of Sasha Banks/Mercedes Mone WWE/AEW

A WWE name was reportedly expected to join AEW due to their connection with Mercedes Mone, the former Sasha Banks.

Having left WWE in February 2024, senior writer and producer Jennifer Pepperman was ‘expected’ to sign with AEW according to a recent report.

Pepperman had worked for WWE for almost seven years with her departure being her own decision.

With Mercedes Mone’s AEW debut widely expected to take place at the Big Business special episode of Dynamite on March 13, Pepperman has indeed signed with AEW.

Pepperman is closely connected to Mone and WWE reportedly expected her to serve as Mone’s “personal writer” in AEW.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, it’s thought of as similar to the arrangement between Brian Gewirtz and The Rock in WWE, with Meltzer stating:

“When she quit last week, I was actually told by WWE that they expected that she would be in AEW very soon, because of her connection with Mercedes. As Mercedes’ personal writer like Brian Gewirtz is for Dwayne Johnson (The Rock).”

Pepperman’s official title in AEW is Vice President of Content, so it does sound like she’ll be involved with more than just Mone’s work.

Gerwitz was named as the ‘voice representing (Dwayne) Johnson‘ in WWE Creative and was expected to be physically at least at major shows moving forward.

It was recently reported that Mone, previously known as Sasha Banks during her time in WWE, has been on the AEW “payroll since at least early January” with plans for her March debut “set for several weeks”.
