Netflix Announces Hulk Hogan: Real American Documentary

Netflix has officially announced a documentary focusing on WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, which will premiere later this month.

With Hogan set to be honored at the upcoming WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, this will not be the only time the late star will appear on our screens in April.

Netflix has now officially announced the Hulk Hogan: Real American documentary. This will premiere on the streaming platform on April 22, three days after WrestleMania 42.

Highlighting that the documentary will let fans “meet the man” whose real name was Terry Bollea, Netflix is advertising that it will also feature his last-ever interview.

The official description reads:

Before he was Hulk Hogan, he was Terry Bollea. Uncover the man behind the legend in this unfiltered documentary featuring his very last interview.

With the trailer highlighting that Hogan was booed during his final WWE appearances, and featuring a clip of him saying that some people hate him, it seems that the documentary is presenting itself as a “warts and all” telling of the Hall of Famer’s story.

Hulk Hogan found himself surrounded by controversy on several occasions during his life following wrestling, which led to him receiving the aforementioned negative reactions in his appearances for WWE later in life.

Mainstream audiences generally remember the Hulkster for being one of WWE ‘s most iconic stars, and the figurehead for the wrestling boom in the 1980s.

Hulk Hogan made his pro-wrestling debut in 1977, ahead of wrestling for WWE (then-WWF) for the first time in 1979.

He went on to hold the WWE/WWF Championship six times in his career, and won the WWE Royal Rumble match twice, in 1990 and 1991 respectively.

Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 71.

Both Hogan and Andre The Giant will be posthumously honored at the April 17 Hall of Fame ceremony, with the duo’s match from WrestleMania III to receive the second annual Immortal Moment award.

With Hogan’s back catalogue of WrestleMania matches which are considered to be classics, we will likely see Hogan receive this award on several more occasions in years to come.
