Nick Khan To Be Paid ‘More Than AEW’s TV Contract For A Year’ If WWE Sale Goes Through WWE

Vince McMahon returning to the company as a tool to facilitate the sale of the WWE could lead to a windfall for Nick Khan.

With plenty of speculation over Vince’s true intentions for returning to the Board of Directors and whether a potential buyer would allow him to remain in charge, the official stance is that McMahon is in place specifically to facilitate the sale of the company… but only if the terms of the deal are right.

One WWE executive who is, no doubt, keeping a close eye on the progress of the sale will be the co-CEO Nick Khan who joined the company in 2020 as President & Chief Revenue Officer.

Conrad Thompson explored Khan’s position on a recent episode of What Happened When, saying:

“My friend was represented by the same company that Nick Khan was sort of running, and when my friend sees that the guy who runs this big agency is now going to WWE, he thought, ‘What the f**k? This doesn’t make any sense.’

“So he called his contact and said, ‘Dude, what’s up with Nick going, blah, blah, blah.’

“He said, and this is years ago now, ‘Yea. He’s got a deal with Vince where in his contract, he gets a big payday when he helps facilitate the sale.’”

Thompson would go on to reveal the recompense that Khan would receive after the successful sale, stating:

“He told me the number, and I won’t say the number because that’s talking about somebody’s money and that’s not cool, but let’s just say this, it’s more than AEW’s TV contract is for a year.”

In 2020, it was reported that Warner Media was paying AEW $45 million a year to air Dynamite on TNT. The show moved to TBS at the start of 2022.
