A WWE star has won a tournament to officially earn a championship match set to take place in two weeks on television.
The WWE Speed Championship and WWE Speed Women’s Championship were officially moved to the NXT brand back at the Heatwave premium live event, with the titles being defended on the show.
After Sol Ruca’s Women’s Speed Championship defence against Jaida Parker at No Mercy, a tournament for the men’s title began on NXT television, with the winner facing El Grande Americano for the title.
The tournament saw SmackDown’s Axiom pick up the win over Evolve’s Sean Legacy, while NXT’s Jasper Troy picked up the win over TNA’s Zachary Wentz to set up the final.
The final of the tournament took place on tonight’s show, with Jasper Troy defeating Axiom to win the tournament and earn a shot at El Grande Americano’s Men’s Speed Championship, which is set for the November 11 episode of NXT.
A tournament is set to begin to crown the next Speed Women’s Champion soon after Sol Ruca officially vacated the title due to injury on tonight’s NXT show.
