Earlier this month at All Out, Britt Baker competed in the first-ever Tooth and Nail match against her rival Big Swole. The match was actually cinematic, which was essential because Britt reportedly wasn’t cleared for a full in-ring return.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Britt Baker wasn’t actually cleared to compete in a proper match at All Out, but was given clearance to do the spot she did in the Tooth and Nail cinematic match.
Sean actually noted in his recent report that people he’d spoken to within AEW were all impressed with how Britt was able to do the match and the spots considering she is technically still injured.
The Tooth and Nail match was a way to get Britt Baker on the All Out card, something that AEW had been promoting for several weeks in what Sean called a “ambitious return date”, without having to have her actually wrestle.
At this time, there is no word on when AEW is actually planning on having Britt Baker make a full-time return to the ring, but neither see or Big Swole have been seen on AEW programming since All Out two weeks ago.
