FTR successfully defended the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the October 14, 2020 edition of AEW: Dynamite against The Best Friends. With the win, FTR begins the push towards Full Gear in November.
So, AEW needs to determine who their challengers will be. AEW announced how they will determine who will become the Number 1 Contenders.
Next week, there will be a 4 team 4-way tag team match where the winner will be next in line for a title shot. The 4 teams were determined by pulling names out of a spinning wheel.
The four teams pulled from the spinning wheel were Private Party, Dark Order’s John Silver and Alex Reynolds, The Butcher and Blade, and The Young Bucks.
WHAT THE HELL?!

The Young Bucks got in the ring with the other teams and FTR. They shook hands with FTR and got in their faces. However, they weren’t so nice to the other teams.
They provided Superkicks to the rest. It certainly seems like we’re heading for a match-up between FTR and The Young Bucks at Full Gear. AEW could pull some shenanigans and go a different route.
Full gear is shaping up to potentially be a pivotal moment in the saga of The Elite. The bracket for the championship tournament was released and we could be looking at a Hangman Page and Kenny Omega final.
As always, we’ll have live coverage of next week’s Dynamite right here on AEW: Dynamite.
