Former WWE star Claudio Castagnoli, who many will remember as Cesaro, has made a significant impact since debuting for Tony Khan’s company at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV.
Since defeating Zack Sabre Jr on his debut, Castagnoli played a huge part in winning the Blood & Guts match for his team, and now looks set for a big title match.
At the end of last night’s pre-taped AEW Rampage, current Ring of Honor (ROH) World Champion Jonathan Gresham was confronted by Castagnoli to set up a title match for this weekend’s ROH Death Before Dishonor show.
As the match was made on Rampage which will air on Friday, the match isn’t 100% official, but unless anything major changes, this will be the World Championship match for the show.
Also on the Death Before Dishonor card as of writing is:
- Samoa Joe (c) vs. Jay Lethal – ROH World Television Championship
- Wheeler Yuta (c) vs. Daniel Garcia – ROH Pure Championship
- FTR (c) vs. The Briscoe Brothers – ROH World Tag Team Championship
- Mercedes Martinez (c) vs. Serena Deeb – ROH Women’s World Championship
- Jonathan Gresham (c) vs. Claudio Castagnoli – Undisputed ROH World Championship
